A foreign citizen joined the protest at Maitighar Mandala on Thursday, wearing traditional Nepali attire. The protest was against the dismissal of Nepal Electricity Authority’s Managing Director, Kulman Ghising.
He was seen among the supporters of Durga Prasai. However, his nationality is unknown. According to Nepali law, foreign citizens are not allowed to participate in protests or political activities.
He speaks broken Nepali, Hindi, and fluent English. Since he participated in political activities in Nepal, he may face deportation. He entered Nepal on a tourist visa with a U.S. passport, but authorities found that he has overstayed his visa.
