Balen Shah About to Become Nepal’s Prime Minister

Kathmandu — A big political change is happening in Nepal. Balendra Shah, popularly known as Balen, is likely to become the next Prime Minister of the country.

Balen Shah is a former mayor of Kathmandu and a leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP). His party has performed very strongly in the recent national election. Early results show that the party is leading in many seats in parliament.

In the election, Balen Shah also won his own seat by defeating former Prime Minister K. P. Sharma Oli with a large number of votes. This victory increased his chances of becoming the next Prime Minister of Nepal.

Balen Shah is only 35 years old. If he becomes Prime Minister, he will be one of the youngest leaders in Nepal’s history. Many young people in Nepal support him because he promised to fight corruption and improve the country’s economy, education, and jobs.

Before entering national politics, Balen Shah became famous as a rapper and later won the Kathmandu mayor election in 2022 as an independent candidate. His popularity among youth and his strong social media presence helped him rise quickly in politics.

Political experts say that his rise shows that many Nepali citizens want new leaders and change in the country’s politics. Final results of the election and government formation will decide when he officially becomes Prime Minister.
